Questions and Answers

Q: What are you afraid of?
A: I am afraid of spiders, but only the big ones. I’m also afraid of worms and small spaces.

Q: What do you do when you feel scared?
(This question can be understood in two ways: 1.your immediate reaction, 2.what you do to calm down.)
A1: I get chills and scream a little or jump.
A2: I shake my arms out and take deep breaths to calm down.

Q: Do you have any phobias?
A: No, I don’t think there’s anything that I’m so terrified of that you could call it a phobia.

Q: Were you afraid of anything when you were a child? Are you still afraid of it?
A: Yes, I was afraid of the dark, heights, basements, thunderstorms, deep water, and I had a phobia of spiders.
Well, I’m still afraid of spiders, but it’s not a phobia anymore, and the other things don’t scare me anymore.

Q: Do any of your friends or family have a phobia?
A: Yes, my uncle and my aunt’s husband have a phobia of spiders, and my grandmother has a phobia of rats and mice.

Q: Do you know someone who is a scaredy-cat?
A: One of my friends is. She’s afraid of insects, heights, needles, deep water, thunderstorms, big dogs, and driving – many, many things!

Q: Do you like scary movies? Why or why not?
A: I’m not a fan of scary movies. I hate the music and sounds in them, the disgusting creatures, and all the blood.

Q: What is something many people are afraid of but you are not?
A: Probably bees. I know some people are afraid of them because they have allergies, but many others are afraid even though they aren’t allergic.

Q: Do you think everyone is afraid of something?
A: I think so. Many fears are irrational — you’re afraid of something even though nothing bad has ever happened to you.
