Grammar: Too and Neither — Expressing Agreement
We use too and neither to agree with someone’s opinion or feeling.
Grammar Focus
1️⃣ Too – to agree with a positive statement
→ I love snowy days. → Me too!
→ She’s excited about Christmas. → I am too!
✅ Form:
Subject + auxiliary verb + too
→ I am too. / She does too. / They can too.
2️⃣ Neither – to agree with a negative statement
→ I don’t like freezing rain. → Me neither!
→ He isn’t going skiing this year. → Neither am I.
✅ Form:
Neither + auxiliary verb + subject
→ Neither do I. / Neither can we. / Neither did she.
⚡ Remember:
• Too = agree with a positive statement
• Neither = agree with a negative statement
• The auxiliary verb must match the first sentence (am / do / did / will / can, etc.)
