Relative Clauses ( vzťažné vety) – who, which, that, where

Relative clauses help us connect two sentences into one. We use who, which, that, where to give more information about a person, a thing, or a place.

- who → for people
- which → for things
- that → for people or things (common in spoken English, more informal)
- where → for places

👉 The relative pronoun goes immediately after the noun it describes.

👉 Vzťažné zámeno ide hneď za podstatné meno, ktoré opisuje.

 

📌 Používa sa to vtedy, keď jedna veta rozvíja alebo bližšie určuje podstatné meno vo vete hlavnej.

 

Examples:

• I met a woman who is a famous singer.

• This is the book which I bought yesterday.

• He’s the student that you helped last week.

• This is the town where I was born.
