Grammar Revision – Examples
• to be – My town is quiet, but the centre is lively.
• have got – I have got nice colleagues. Have you got good neighbours?
• there is/are – There is a cosy café near my office. There are cheap shops in my town.
• can/can’t – You can walk everywhere in a small town, but you can’t avoid a traffic jam in the morning.
• present simple – I usually commute by bus, but sometimes I go by car.

💬 Speaking Questions with Sample Answers
Q: Is your town quiet or lively? Can you describe it? A: My town is quiet. There are not many people in the streets. In the evening it is peaceful, but at the weekend it is lively because people go to the restaurants.
Q: Have you got friendly neighbours? Can you describe them? A: Yes, I have. My neighbour is very kind. She is about 60 years old, she always says hello, and sometimes she brings me fruit from her garden.
Q: Is there a café or restaurant you like? Why? A: Yes, there is a cosy café in the centre. I like it because the coffee is cheap and good. The place is small but very nice and not crowded.
Q: How do you usually commute to work or school? A: I usually commute by bus. It takes 20 minutes. Sometimes I drive my car, but in the morning there is a traffic jam, so the bus is faster.
Q: Can you imagine living in the countryside? Why/Why not? A: Yes, I can. The countryside is quiet and beautiful. I like nature. But there are no shops and no good jobs, so it is difficult to live there.
